Was reading the workbook yesterday and would like to pen down some thoughts that I have.
I guess one of the fundamental issues that we have to figure out is the meaning of worship.
So, what is worship? Well, guess the song does offer some clue.
It is not just songs or singing. If one is to say that prayer is communicating to God, then worship is expressing our love to our beloved King.
It encompasses obedience, like what Abraham replied to his servants when he was near the place God told him to go sacrifice his son.
“Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you.” Gen22:6
Often, our first point of contact with worship is the singing and praise before the sermon. Is that all that worship could be? As I journey along, I realised that somehow, worship is much bigger than that. What is worship to you then?
I guess it is important for us to figure that out before moving on deeper into the technicality of worship leading….
